Information technology (IT) is an integral part of the learning environment at Ave Maria. The Information Technology department is part of the Law Library and is staffed with professionals who are dedicated to meeting the technology needs of students, faculty, and staff at the Law School.
All classrooms and student-study spaces in the Law School and Law Library include data and electrical outlets for laptop usage and for accessing online resources. Though the majority of law students own a laptop for use in class or for research, two computer labs housed in the Library are available for group instructional purposes and general student use. The Library also allows students to borrow one of its laptops for a limited period of time.
The Law School's intranet, referred to as the “Ave Portal” provides students with a wealth of information and utilities – including access to information from the Office of Career Services, a searchable student directory, course pages for classes (these pages can include assignments, old exams, answer keys, handouts, syllabi, and other web resources) to mention just a few.
