Significant Dates

Ave Maria School of Law admits candidates for the fall semester only. The following are important dates for admission and scholarship consideration.

September 1: applications may be submitted for the next fall's entering class using the LSAC Online Application or a hard-copy application.

November 10: the Admissions Committee begins reviewing completed applications for the fall semester. Applications generally are reviewed in the order in which they were received and completed with required supporting materials.

November 20: the School of Law sends out the first round of admission-decision letters.

February - April: the Admissions Office hosts Voir Dire visit programs for candidates admitted to the fall entering class. These full-day visit programs allow prospective students to meet a cross section of faculty and students in both formal and informal sessions. Tours of the law school and library will be offered and presentations relating to career services, financial aid, and student life will be offered.

April 1: priority date for submitting an admissions application to ensure full consideration for scholarship assistance.

April 15: candidates admitted to the School of Law prior to March 10 must submit the Enrollment Intention Form and a $500 nonrefundable enrollment deposit by this date to secure a seat in the entering class.

April 20 - August 20: The Admissions Committee maintains a Wait List throughout the spring and summer months. The Committee offers admission to candidates on the Wait List as information regarding the class size becomes available and as cancellations from the class occur. It is not unusual for as many as 30 offers of admission to be extended to wait-list candidates.

May 1: priority date for completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and listing Ave Maria School of Law as a recipient (federal code is G36914).

June 10: final date that the Admissions Office will accept an application for admission for the fall semester. (A limited number of seats are available in the entering class at this late date. Potential applicants always are advised to apply early in the admissions cycle.)
