James is an attorney that practices in civil litigation and criminal matters.

James R. Chillemi is a managing partner of Colosseum Counsel, with his home base in our Naples office. Originally from the New York Metropolitan area, James attended Archbishop Stepinac High School where he was a member of the 2011 NYC Class A Championship Varsity Basketball Team. He was then recruited to Ave Maria University, where James graduated with a degree in Politics and a minor in History, while playing on both the basketball and golf teams. After college, James matriculated to Ave Maria School of Law and graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2018. He passed the Florida Bar in early 2019 and has been practicing law full-time ever since. James has practiced throughout the Florida courts in the areas of criminal defense, construction litigation, landlord/tenant, probate, and personal injury.

When he’s not in the office or courtroom, James enjoys playing competitive golf around Florida, cheering for the NY Jets, Mets, and Knicks, training in various martial arts, and reading political philosophy.
