Summer Opportunities

Aspiring attorneys who choose Ave Maria School of Law for their legal education typically do so with multiple goals in mind—to develop skills that will serve them well throughout their professional careers, to participate in practical training in preparation for challenging, meaningful, and rewarding employment, and to receive thorough educational instruction in preparation for the bar exam. Our graduates are poised to enter the practice of law with a commitment to the highest ethical and moral standards in an environment that recognizes the compatibility between faith and reason.

Ave Maria School of Law students are encouraged to begin seeking a summer position as a legal intern or law clerk after their first year of law school in order to gain practical work experience. Beginning the summer after their 1L year, Ave Maria School of Law students are using their talents in a variety of employment settings in all regions of the country. This summer students are completing legal internships and externships throughout Florida, as well as in Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Washington state, and Rome, Italy. These placements include private firms, federal judicial internships, state appellate court internships, federal and state agencies, corporations, and public interest organizations.
